Students wearing face masks should come to school wearing their lanyards with their face mask attached. Lewis lanyards for all students and staff as well. One cloth face mask is being provided for all students and staff. FACE MASKS & LANYARDS - All staff and students in grades 3-5 are required to wear a face mask and it is highly encouraged for students in grades K-2.HAND WASHING & HAND SANITIZING - We now have 8 new hand sanitizer stations installed at school and we have scheduled multiple hand washing and restroom breaks throughout the day as well.DISINFECTING & SANITIZING - Our staff will be taking an all-hands-on-deck approach to disinfect and sanitize all high-touch areas regularly throughout the school day and our maintenance team will disinfect all areas each evening using special equipment and approved medical-grade products.We are also in the process of converting some of our main water fountains into water bottle refill stations! All students should bring their water bottles filled each day to school (water only). We have purchased a 28-ounce flip-lid water bottle for all students and staff at W.T. WATER BOTTLES & REFILL STATIONS - We will not use water fountains at this time.We are even creating 5 different recess locations on our playground with assigned areas for each homeroom to provide students the opportunity to go outside and play while maintaining our static group arrangements! STATIC GROUPING ARRANGEMENTS - Students will remain with their homeroom class and will not mix with other homeroom classes during the school day.Here are a few of the important steps we're taking: Lewis to provide a safe environment as we prepare for re-opening in phase 2. The safety of our students and staff is our first priority! We are taking many measures at W.T. We're looking forward to working together and making this year great! If anyone can move mountains together, it's us. We are more than a school community, we are a family committed to the success of our children. Lewis for the past 12 years, I know the potential that lies within us. Countless hours have been spent learning, planning, adjusting, and preparing together for every phase and scenario one could imagine! Our teachers and staff have stepped up with a renewed sense of purpose and we are ready to do what it takes to give our children the best year possible! As educators and parents, we will navigate unchartered territory together this school year, but I honestly can't imagine a school community more equipped to do so! As a leader at W.T. In the midst of uncertainty and constant changes, we never lost focus. As I read this inspirational quote yesterday, I reflected on all the work that has happened over the past few months to prepare for our students' return on August 20th. You have been assigned this mountain to show others it can be moved.
